History of Japan As per archaeologists, Japan was founded 100,000 years back. It was discovered by two Portuguese traders Antonio da mota and Francisco Zeimoto. Different periods of japans are: Prehistoric period - Prehistoric period began when the people were fishing, hunting, and gathering. It is also known as the Jomon period; it was named after the cord-markings on the pottery they produced. Kofun period – In this period, manufactured articles, weapons, and agricultural tools were introduced (AD 300-710). Nara period – It was the period that the Great Buddha at the Todaiji temple in Nara was built (AD 710- 794). Heian period – The Nara period was replaced by the Heian period by a more indigenous style of culture closer to lives and natural surroundings (AD 794-1185). Kamakura period – This was the period of the warrior class. The period is noted for its military tales such as the tale of Heike (AD 1185-1333). Muromachi period – This was the period of Chinese-style ink painting, the tea ceremony and flower arrangements were born (AD 1333-1568). Azuchi-momoyama period – In this period tea ceremony was deployed into an esthetic discipline known as a way to tea (AD 1568-1600). Edo period, Meiji Period, Taisho period, Heisei period then came where literature, drama, music, and painting period. These are the modern period where the old culture was carried forward. People like to make a trip to Japan due to its traditional culture, which is carried forward for many years.
